Come as a couple. Leave as a birth team.
When labor begins, most dads want to help—they just aren’t always sure what to do.
Dude-la is a hands-on class for expecting couples that teaches dads practical doula skills they can use to support their partner throughout labor and birth. Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, know you want an epidural, or simply want to be prepared for whatever birth brings, this class gives your partner real tools to reach for when you need them.
You’ll learn and practice:
Labor positions for comfort, movement, and rest
Counterpressure and hip squeezes
Massage and hands-on comfort techniques
Movement and position changes during contractions
Birth ball and peanut ball techniques
Creating a calming environment using warmth, touch, sound, and other sensory tools
Ways to support comfort as labor becomes more intense
Positions and comfort techniques that can still be helpful after an epidural
How to adapt when the birth you planned isn’t the birth that’s unfolding
How to build a practical birth-day toolkit so your partner has options when you need them
Doulas support all births—unmedicated births, epidurals, inductions, changes in plans, and everything in between. Dude-la takes that same philosophy and gives dads practical skills to help them feel more confident and useful no matter what path birth takes.
Learn from a doula trainer
This class is taught by Scott and Erica, bringing together a dad’s perspective with professional doula expertise.
Erica has been training birth doulas for more than 10 years and has trained over 200 doulas. In Dude-la, she brings some of the practical skills she teaches professional doulas into the classroom so dads can learn how to provide meaningful, hands-on support to the person they know best.
Wear something comfortable and come ready to move, practice, ask questions, and figure out what works for the two of you. Perfect for expecting parents at any stage of pregnancy.
