What to Expect
  • Topics: Latching, pumping, increasing milk supply, and general baby care. 
    One-on-one or group sessions with lactation specialists (IBCLCs)

  • No Cost: Free of charge to all.

  • One-on-one or group sessions with lactation specialists including weighted feeds, troubleshooting, and getting help with positioning or latching.

  • Relaxed, Open to all. All are welcome!

  • RSVP is strongly encouraged, although not at all required. Please help us to plan ahead with your RSVP. Thank you!

Sample Itinerary for a Baby Café:
  • Sign in and grab a seat in an informal, welcoming space.


  • Meet and share experiences with other parents. Topics: Latching, pumping, increasing milk supply, and general baby care. 

  • One-on-one or group sessions with lactation specialists (IBCLCs, CLCs, CLEs) while the socializing continues.

  • Weighted feeds, troubleshoot, and get help with positioning or latching.

  • To close the day, we’ll reflect and celebrate all who came today. Baby Café closes at 12:30 pm.

Kacey Widmeyer, IBCLC Cincy Lactation

Kacey’s passion lies in supporting families as they navigate their unique breastfeeding journeys, regardless of their individual feeding goals. As an IBCLC with a master's degree in Health and Wellness, she has a solid foundation in nutrition and maternal health.

Amanda Larimore, IBCLC Roots Wellness

Amanda discovered her passion for helping new parents and babies after struggling with breastfeeding her first child. She became involved with La Leche League in 2007, and has been working in the hospital setting as an IBCLC since 2017, helping families get off to a good start, starting a donor milk program, and advocating for breastfeeding friendly policies.​

Maren Rausch, IBCLC Roots Wellness

Maren Rausch began working with families as a Residential Treatment Specialist and then a Child Case Manager with her degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1993. Maren continues supporting growing families as a doula, educator, and an IBCLC.

Dawn Thomas, IBCLC Cincy Lactation

Dawn is an IBCLC with over 15 years of experience, beginning her journey as a peer counselor 19 years ago.What drives her passion is the belief that every feeding journey is unique. As a mother of three breastfed children, she has faced various challenges, ensuring my support is both evidence-based and empathetic.

Darla, CLC Cincy Lactation

Darla has over 15 years of dedicated experience working closely with mothers and their babies, serving as both a nurse and a lactation consultant. My primary goal is to ensure that all moms feel supported and empowered in their feeding choices and goals, no matter what those may be.

  • Baby Café USA is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that licenses, supports, and coordinates a growing network of Baby Café sites across the United States. Communities nationwide implement the Baby Café model to expand access to free, evidence-based breastfeeding support, reduce health disparities, and help families meet their infant feeding goals.

    All Baby Café sites in the U.S. are licensed by Baby Café USA and operate under a standardized, quality-assured model, including authorized use of the Baby Café name and trademarked logo. Through training, technical assistance, and data-driven evaluation, Baby Café USA works to strengthen community-based lactation support and improve maternal and infant health outcomes nationwide.

  • Baby Café is open to all parents and caregivers with babies who would like support with feeding, breastfeeding, or simply connecting with other parents in the early months.

  • Parents can receive guidance from trained lactation professionals, ask questions about feeding and newborn care, and connect with other parents navigating the same stage of life.

  • Baby Café is designed for families with newborns and young babies in the first months of life, but parents are welcome to attend at any stage if they need feeding support or connection with other families.

    To keep the space calm and focused on newborn feeding support, Baby Café is reserved for parents and their babies only. Older children and siblings are not able to attend.
