Meet Gabby: Our Postpartum Doula with a Heart for Families
We are so excited to introduce you to Gabby Meiners, our incredible Postpartum Doula. Gabby’s journey into doula work began with her own postpartum experiences. As she puts it:
“I truly felt what a lack of support felt like during my own postpartum period and I never wanted other mamas to feel the same. That’s not to say we didn’t have any support, I was just the first of my friends to have kids so they just didn’t know how to help effectively.”
When she’s not supporting new parents, Gabby is at home with her husband of eight years, Nick (her college sweetheart and friend since they were teenagers), and their three amazing children. She loves Tennessee Volunteers football, trips to the lake, spending time outdoors, visiting the zoo, enjoying craft beer at local breweries, going to concerts, and reading thrillers on audiobook. The Meiners family also shares their home with two dogs (Charlie and Millie), seven hens, and an outdoor cat — proof that Gabby’s love for nurturing extends to all creatures, great and small. Above all, she and her family center their lives around their Christian faith and love for Jesus.
What Does a Postpartum Doula Do?
Postpartum doulas provide practical, emotional, and informational support to families after birth. This can include:
Helping with newborn care — soothing techniques, feeding support, diapering, and safe sleep.
Supporting the birthing parent’s recovery — offering rest breaks, preparing nourishing meals, and ensuring they have what they need physically and emotionally.
Guiding the whole family — helping partners, siblings, and other caregivers feel confident in their roles.
A postpartum doula’s role is to nurture the nurturer, so parents can recover, bond with their baby, and gain confidence in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
3 Things You Might Not Know About Postpartum Doulas
We support the whole household, not just the baby. That might mean folding laundry, organizing the nursery, prepping meals, or making sure older siblings feel included.
We tailor our care to your needs. Every family’s postpartum period looks different — our role is to meet you where you are.
We help prevent burnout and overwhelm. Having consistent, compassionate support in those early weeks can lower stress, boost confidence, and make for a smoother transition into parenthood.
Gabby says it best:
“Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your family’s story! It’s truly an honor to stand in the gaps of support for you.”
We’re thrilled to have Gabby on our team — and we know that the families she serves will feel her warmth, wisdom, and genuine care in every visit.
